FAQ’s

I'm committed to making your notarization experience as simple and stress-free as possible. If you don't see your question here, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm happy to discuss your needs and help you determine the best next steps.

Hello! I'm Brianna J., the owner and commissioned Tennessee Notary Public behind Crown & Quill Notary Co.

I founded Crown & Quill with one simple mission: to provide a professional, dependable, and stress-free notarization experience. I understand that many of the documents I notarize represent significant moments in my clients' lives—from purchasing a home and planning for the future to supporting loved ones during healthcare decisions. My goal is to make every appointment seamless, convenient, and handled with the highest level of care.

Crown & Quill Notary Co. proudly serves East Tennessee, including Knoxville and the surrounding communities. If you're unsure whether your location falls within my service area, feel free to contact me.

Common documents I assist with include:
• Powers of Attorney
• Healthcare Directives / Advance Directives
• Estate Planning Documents
• Financial & Insurance Forms
• Admission & Authorization Documents
• Affidavits and General Notarial Doc

Simply bring a VALID, non-expired State or Federal form of identification and the willingness to sign!

Examples include:

  • Driver's License
  • State ID Card
  • U.S. Passport
  • Military ID (when accepted under Tennessee law)

The ID must be current or otherwise acceptable under applicable Tennessee law.

Yes. Every person whose signature requires notarization must personally appear before me, the notary, at the time of signing.

Yes. I regularly notarize Powers of Attorney, healthcare directives, wills that require notarization, affidavits, and many other legal and personal documents. However, please be advised that I cannot provide legal advice or explain the contents of your documents.

Witness availability may be offered with advance notice for an additional fee. Please ask when scheduling your appointment so arrangements can be made if needed.

Every situation is unique. Please contact me before scheduling so we can discuss the circumstances and determine whether the notarization can be completed in accordance with Tennessee law.

In some cases, a document may require a notarial certificate. I can explain the differences between common notarial acts (such as acknowledgments and jurats), but I cannot choose the correct certificate for you or provide legal advice. If you're unsure, the document preparer or requesting agency should advise you.

Most appointments are completed within 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the number of documents, signers, and any witness requirements.
